There were rumors back in 2007, but since then there has been no development on Blizzard turning its money-maker, World of Warcraft, into a live-action film.
Until now.
Ain't it Cool News and Variety have both published articles confirming that Sam Raimi, director of the Spider-man films and Drag Me to Hell, will be directing the fantasy epic, Warcraft. He is slated to begin production after filming Spider-man 4. Charles Roven, who worked on The Dark Knight, will be producing the film. The movie is going to be mounted by Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment, while Warner Bros. co-finances and distributes it.
No budget, though it has been suggested it will cost over 100 million to make, cast or any sort of story or writer has been released yet, but one thing is for certain. There will be the Horde and there will be the Alliance and there will be epic battles.
And now for the opinions. Greatest idea ever? Will it bomb hard? Leave a comment below and share your reasoning.
